The contraceptive injection is injected into your bum cheek or arm.

A doctor or nurse can give you the injection.

The injection stops you getting pregnant for 13 weeks. 

It is important to get a new injection every 13 weeks. You can get pregnant from having sex if it has been more than 13 weeks since your last injection.

Your doctor or nurse are the best people to help you decide which type of contraception works best for you.

You can get the injection from a sexual health clinic or your GP.
